The newer vehicles get, the more technical the immobilizers get and the harder it is to gain access to them. Some vehicles therefore require you to write the key data directly into one of the circuit boards in your vehicle. This must be done in some vehicles to prevent data corruption. Many auto-locksmiths shy away from this work because it involves soldering, and instead attempt to program via OBD (through the OBD2 port of your vehicle), which is extremely risky. You must be very careful with who you pick. There are many pictures throughout this website depicting me soldering onto various circuit boards to read or write necessary data.
The equipment that I use is literally the best on the market. Cheap equipment will at some point lead to data corruption in a car’s immobilizer which can in turn lead to vehicle ‘bricking‘. Most of my equipment receives daily updates so that it is at the cutting edge of the market.
I am DBS checked – locksmithing is one of the most important trades to have a DBS check since you’re working with key data. You can be rest assured this data is safe with me and will be shared with absolutely nobody under any circumstance.
