The majority of the time, your key will be made on site. The only times where it may not be made on site is if a particular module needs removing and soldering needs to be performed on it in order to program your key. In these cases, I will need to take the module back to my office to perform the relevant functions before returning back to your vehicle to complete the rest of the job.
These cases are fairly rare, however just to note, if you have a BMW, Range Rover/ Jaguar, Mercedes, Mini, VAG vehicle, this may apply to you. This is usually only the case in an ‘All Keys Lost’ scenario.
This is your choice. I offer both OEM and aftermarket keys for most vehicles. OEM keys are of course more expensive than aftermarkets.
There are a few manufacturers where I only offer OEM keys since some cars don’t respond well to aftermarket. For more information, feel free to get in touch.
Paying by card is perfectly fine since I have a card machine. I also accept cash and bank transfers.
I don’t require a callout charge per se, however I do require a deposit before I set off to any job. This is in case, for example, I travel to a customer and half way through my journey they call me saying they don’t need me anymore. The deposit is used to cover time and travel costs in these cases. I charge a 20% deposit upfront.
This is a common misconception amongst a lot of people. It is not possible to do this. You need an auto locksmith to be physically on site to make you a key.
This is dependant on the time of day. Since I cover a relatively small radius of around 15 miles, I’m generally able to keep waiting times down to a minimum. I endeavour to reach my customer’s within the hour, however during rush hour and other busy times of the day it can take longer than this.
Before proceeding with both ‘all keys lost’ key programming and vehicle lockouts, I will require evidence that the vehicle is yours. Depending on the situation, I appreciate that you may not have much in the way of documentation with you. Therefore I have several other ways I go about verifying ownership, but I won’t disclose them on here.
